This site tells the 'then and now' story of living and trading on Gloucester Road in Bristol from the late 1800's up to the present day. A basic history of the occupation of all the premises along the road since the 1870's is being collated from a number of sources – historical and current, augmented with up-to-date personal recollections.

The site can be used to explore the history of the road generally or of any particular address or business, or to find up to date information on current shops and businesses on the road.

The site is being developed by a group of Gloucester Road enthusiasts as a local community effort. New participants are welcome.
